I’m delighted to share with you the highlights of this new season.
Over the past seven years, the orchestra and I have succeeded in creating our own unique “voice”. Indubitably, this success was born, from audacious programs, and would not have been possible without the warm support of the public.
For our eighth season together, I’d like to go one step further. There are so many wonderful orchestras and excellent conductors in the world, yet there are certain things that only the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo achieves and that no one else can imitate. And that’s what we’re all about, and what drives our lives. It is this “uniqueness” of which we can be proud, and which we wish to share with as many people as possible.
This new season will be rich in diversity. Throughout it, you’ll meet artists you already know, as well as some who will be making their debut in Monte-Carlo.
The artist in residence will be Simon Trpčeski, yet, one of the most appreciate pianists, whose “singularity” is astonishing. He knows intimately that music is not only beautiful, and that beauty sometimes rhymes with fiendish. Each of his performances is a unique and exhilarating moment. He is one of those artists who can take the audience to a paroxysm of emotion.
Every artist has his or her own personality, as does every work written by a composer.
A concert is a magical place where the two meet, bringing out a multitude of colors. In Japanese script, this is written in richly colored letters to give birth to the word “Eclat”. I invite you to this new season of radiance.
After the painful and difficult period of the pandemic, when all activities were suspended, we are delighted to finally be able to present major works by Bruckner and Mahler. But above all, our greatest joy is to share these moments with YOU.
I would like to thank H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover for her faithful trust, and you, dear audience, for your unfailing support.
